Montenegro invites the first public call for the election of the most favourable offer for the purchase and installation of photovoltaic system Solarni katuni

Montenegrin Ministry of Economy announced public invitation for public procurement for purchase and installation of photovoltaic systems in summer mountainous households in Montenegro. The value of procurement is € 70,000 and it aims to improve the working conditions of farmers in the summer mountainous households providing them electricity for basic application. All interested Montenegrin companies that have experience in the field of utilization of solar resources, have been invited to participate in the [project, individually or through business associations. Deadline for submission of bids is 10 August 2011.The installation of photovoltaic solar systems solves the problems related to electricity supply, which reduces the need for electrification of certain areas, and the energy obtained in this way is free of charge for final users. Photovoltaic solar system providing direct conversion of solar radiation (energy) into electricity and can work independently from the power grid and installed battery unit provides 2 days of autonomy without having to recharge.In order to get as many households, who reside on the pasture lands, providing better living and working conditions, as well as to create conditions for increasing the number of cattle in summer pastures, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Economy launched a comprehensive project, designed in a way that share of state budget in investment for installation of solar system is 80%, while the participation of beneficiaries is 20%.The project "Solarni katuni" together with the project Montesol represent pioneering projects in the field of valorization of solar resources in Montenegro. These projects are examples of successful interdepartmental cooperation and coordination in Montenegro. The project promotes the strategic principles of promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, as well as basic principles of regional development of Montenegro, with a special focus on the development of the northern region through the use of low-carbon technologies and sustainable development of agriculture.Source: Ministry of Economy of Montenegro/Energetska-efikasnost.me
